Classification:

CBN Grinding wheels can be divided into the following four types according to different processing techniques and different components of binders used. Their properties and uses (referring to mechanical processing purposes) are also different.

1. Electroplated CBN grinding wheel

The molding process of the grinding wheel is simple and the production cost is low. The molding is simple but there is only one layer of plating, which cannot be corrected. During the processing, it is difficult to know when the grinding layer is damaged. It is suitable for small-batch mechanical processing and geometrically complex molding grinding and as a dressing roller.

2. Sintered CBN grinding wheel

It has high hardness and density, and is processed into high-precision dressing rollers at a high cost. It is mainly used for dressing rollers of grinding wheels and large-scale processing of superhard materials.

3. Resin CBN grinding wheel

The production process of the grinding wheel is simple and the production cost is low. The molding is simple but it is not easy to correct and shape. It is used for small-batch processing of multiple shapes. Such as tool grinding and tool processing, and glass processing.

4. Vitrified bond CBN grinding wheel

The vitrified bond CBN grinding wheel has the advantages of strong grinding force, high-speed processing without burning the workpiece, and can be corrected and durable. It is ideal grinding tool with high-speed, high-efficiency and high-precision.

Applications:

Cubic boron nitride (CBN) grinding wheels are suitable for processing products made of the following materials: ① high manganese steel; ② high chromium, nickel, molybdenum alloy steel; ③ chilled cast iron (HS80-90); ④ various types of hardened steel (HRC55-65); ⑤ various types of cast iron (HB200-400), ⑥ glass, gemstones and other high hardness and soft tough materials. They have been used in automobiles (gears, flywheels, shafts, bearings, etc.), rolls, slurry pumps (impellers, volutes, guard plates, sleeves, etc.), molds, and cylinder liners.
